History
Forward Faith Ministries was started in New Zealand following an apostolic visit to Auckland by Archbishop Dr Ezekiel and Eunor Guti. During the same visit the Archbishop planted two other assemblies in Christchurch and in Wellington. The first assembly established was in Auckland and the first Sunday service was attended by about 20 people.
Administrative set up
From these humble beginnings the church has expanded to the rest of New Zealand, and is divided into three administrative regions: South Island, Lower North Island and the Upper North Island. In the South Island the Forward in Faith churches are found in Christchurch and Dunedin. In the Lower North Island they are found in Wellington and Palmerston North.
Accomplishments and current ministry operations.
During the first half of the year 2008, two new assemblies in Whakatane and Tauranga were established. This brought tally of assemblies to four in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts in the Upper North Island, the other two being in Hamilton and Rotorua. Meanwhile in Auckland the church which until now existed as two assemblies, experienced further growth this year and there are now three assemblies in total. These are strategically located in Manukau City serving the South Auckland environs, in Waitakere City serving the western part of Auckland and in Central Auckland serving the eastern and central districts of the commercial capital of New Zealand.
This year the church experienced a major breakthrough in its outreach when Pastors Zenas and Cathleen Marurama preached in the Pacific Island of Tonga at the request of the king upon his coronation. Scores of people received the lord Jesus Christ as their lord and savior and were baptized in water. Currently elders of the church across New Zealand foster the new church and visit the island pending the deployment of a full time pastor from the church’s head office.
In a year that has so far proved to be eventful, the church in New Zealand is actively pursuing the talents program to raise funds for the purchase of church property in New Zealand..
